The minister said the project would provide immediate and quality treatment facilities to people of Patiala and surrounding districts. He said the operational trauma centre would significantly improve the quality of emergency services and increase the chances of saving lives.Dr. Balbir Singh added that a new facility centre was being prepared at a cost of Rs 56 lakh for patient convenience. The centre would have billing and admission sections and a mini laboratory. He said necessary lab tests for emergency patients would be immediately available, preventing delays in treatment, and the initiative was aimed at enhancing convenience for patients and their families.Further, he said Rs 13.53 crore was allocated for the construction of a hostel for junior resident doctors to provide better residential facilities for doctors and medical staff and make the delivery of health services more effective.The minister urged people to bring their Aadhaar card and voter card to avail benefits of the Chief Minister Health Scheme, and said cards would be made on the spot at the hospital. He added that with free treatment facilities up to Rs 10 lakh, people would not need to purchase medicines from outside, as all treatment and medicines would be provided free of cost within the hospital.He appealed to the youth and women to get their scheme cards made to secure health protection and employment opportunities. He said the Punjab govt was continuously striving for public welfare and was fully committed to taking health facilities in the state to new heights.On the occasion, medical superintendent Dr. Vishal Chopra, superintendent of Government Rajindra Hospital and other health department officials were present.
