Woman dies by suicide in Bengaluru home, alleges ‘torture’: husband, inlaws booked

Chennai: A 27-year-old woman died by suicide at her residence in Bengaluru on Friday after sending a distress message to her parents, accusing her husband and in-laws of harassment. Ramakrishna Raju Pet police registered a case based on a complaint filed by the woman’s mother.Police said G Meganashree, from Thirunatharajapuram in Thiruvallur , was found hanging at her home in Sriramapura, Bengaluru, on Friday. She left behind a three-year-old daughter.According to the complaint filed by her mother, Latha Mageshwari, 49, Meganashree married Gunasekaran, 35, in 2021. The couple lived in Bengaluru. She said her daughter frequently complained about marital discord.On Friday, Meganashree sent a message to her brother that her husband was torturing her and that she had decided to end her life. The body was taken to Thiruttani GH for postmortem. The Ramakrishna Raju Pet police registered a case against Gunasekaran and his family members. TNN
