Ferozepur: In a major breakthrough, Ferozepur police on Saturday busted a narco-arms module and arrested four men with 22.3kg of heroin, two Glock pistols with magazines and cartridges, and over Rs 2 lakh in drug money.Snehdeep Sharma, DIG, Ferozepur Range, said the action was part of the state government and DGP’s directive to crack down on drugs and organised crime. With this seizure, Ferozepur police have recovered 308kg heroin so far under the ongoing anti-drug campaign.The accused were identified as Pratap Singh (27) of Kilche, Jagjit Singh alias Jagga (26) of Arniwala, Fazilka; Malook Singh alias Love (29) of Gattu Kilche; and Kirandeep Singh alias Deep (36) of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, Ferozepur.A CIA Zira team led by SI Gurmeet Singh made the arrests during naka checking near a brick kiln in Dulcheeke village based on specific intelligence. Police initially recovered 2.717kg heroin, four mobile phones and a Hyundai i20 car. Two Glock pistols, two magazines and four 9mm cartridges were also seized.Following a disclosure by Pratap Singh, police searched his farmhouse and recovered an additional 19.5kg heroin and Rs 2.05 lakh.A case under the NDPS Act and Arms Act has been registered at Sadar police station. Police said some accused have previous NDPS-related cases. Further investigation is underway to trace backward and forward linkages.
