Jaipur: Rajasthan is witnessing a seasonal transition, with warm afternoons signalling the approach of summer even as winter lingers in the early morning hours across several districts. On Saturday, Barmer was the hottest place in the state at 35.6°C, while Fatehpur in Sikar recorded a low of 4.5°C, reflecting the sharp contrast in temperatures. The variation highlights the ongoing shift from winter to summer conditions. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, active northerly winds are influencing the current weather pattern, keeping mornings cool while allowing temperatures to rise steadily during the day. In Jaipur, the minimum temperature settled at 14.0°C, while the maximum climbed to 29.1°C under partly cloudy skies. Many residents were seen shedding winter clothing by afternoon as the sun intensified. Across most districts, both maximum and minimum temperatures are showing an upward trend. However, the Shekhawati region — including Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Churu and Bikaner — continues to record chilly mornings, with minimum temperatures in several areas remaining below 10°C. The Met office has forecast light rainfall in parts of Jaipur, Bharatpur and Ajmer divisions from Feb 17 due to an approaching western disturbance. The showers may cause a slight dip in temperatures, providing temporary relief from the rising daytime heat. Weather officials said the overall pattern indicates that winter is gradually retreating. Over the next two weeks, temperatures are expected to rise further, including in traditionally colder pockets such as Shekhawati, marking the onset of summer-like conditions in the state.
