Three habituals arrested for phone-snatching in Chennai

Chennai: Three men, who had snatched mobile phones across North Chennai, were arrested on Friday. Police recovered five mobile phones and a stolen two-wheeler from the accused. The suspects—Tamilselvan, Vinoth and Mohammed Sheriff, all from Old Washermenpet—were tracked down following a complaint from Seeman of Manali Mathur. They reportedly snatched his phone while he was waiting at the Madhavaram roundabout on Jan 27. During inquiry, the trio said they stole the two-wheeler from Sevvapet and used it to snatch mobile phones in Madhavaram, MKB Nagar, Puzhal and Vyasarpadi.Sheriff has nine cases against him, while Tamilselvan has five. Vinoth has two cases. TNN
