Bicholim: A state-level Mahashivratri festival will be celebrated at the Shri Rudreshwar temple at Harvalem on Sunday with various religious, cultural and spiritual programmes.The temple administration has taken measures regarding policing and traffic management in a meeting held by Deputy Collector Shubham Naik for devotees from all over the country.The temple committee has appealed to devotees to take darshan in a queue to avoid confusion and cooperate with the traffic system. It also clarified that organisers should be given full cooperation.Devasthan president Yeshwant Madkar will perform the first abhishek. The Mahanaivaidya will start at 12.30pm. The temple will be closed for one hour for cleaning after 7.45pm.There will be a bhajan by local artistes from 9pm to 12.00am. At 12.00am, a Maha Aarti will be performed, and a palanquin procession will commence. Shri Kelbai Devi will arrive from Varche Harvalem, accompanied by a dindi procession. Subsequently, the play ‘Dhanaya Devchara’ presented by Shri Vitthal Manch Sangati from Karapur-Tisk will be staged.On Monday, the Divjotsav will be held at 6am followed by a chariot procession of Lord Rudreshwar on the Vijayarath, accompanied by traditional music of tutari and drums. Archashuddhis will begin at 10am, and a Samaradhana will be held later. The programme will conclude with Maha Aarti, Tirtha Prasad and Maha Prasad at 1.45pm.The committee stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to avoid inconvenience during the ongoing beautification work.
