Congress to appoint four district chiefs by March

Margao: Congress carved out four new districts for Goa — North Goa, Mhadei, South Goa, and Kushavati — at the party’s organisational level, with district presidents for each set to be appointed by the first week of March.All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) Goa in-charge Manikrao Thakre said that AICC-appointed observers will camp in the state between Feb 17 and Mar 1 as part of the party’s nationwide Sanghatan Srijan Abhiyan to finalise the selection for district presidents.

“The AICC-appointed observers will tour the respective districts and hold interactions with functionaries and workers at the block and booth levels under the Sanghatan Srijan Abhiyan to ascertain their preference for district presidents. GPCC observers have also been deputed. The four district presidents will be in place by the first week of March,” Thakre said.
