Pune: A man was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly tried to con a jewellery shop owner in Kondhwa for the second time within a year.The accused, Ayub Irani (46) of Loni Kalbhor, had visited the shop in May last year under the pretext of giving change for Rs500. He later requested the owner to check the “C” mentioned on the currency notes of Rs500 denomination in the counter and took them. By diverting his attention, Irani stole some currency notes, valued at Rs6,500 value. Irani went to the same shop to try his luck again on Thursday, but the owner identified him and handed him over to police. “We arrested him on the charge of cheating,” an officer from the Yewalewadi police said.
