Domestic staffer mowed down by dumper on Dwarka eway service road

Gurgaon: A 35-year-old domestic staffer returning home on a bicycle from Joyville Society in Sector 102 was run over by a speeding dumper truck on the Dwarka e-way service road near Dhanwapur village.The woman Jhulan Kumari lived in a rented accommodation with her family in Lakshman Vihar Phase 2. The accident occurred around 5.30pm on Thursday. A police team from Rajendra Park police station reached the spot and found the truck parked on the service road. Police said the woman’s body was under the truck, while her bicycle was stuck under a rear wheel. Eyewitnesses said the driver tried to flee after the accident but they caught him and handed him over to the police.The woman’s body was sent to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The body was later shifted to a mortuary for autopsy. The body was later handed over to the family.Kumari’s husband filed a complaint against the driver. He said, “When my wife was returning from work, a truck bearing the number HR63D9400 came from behind at high speed and crushed my wife in front of Puri Diplomatic Greens Society.”An officer said the driver, Alishan, a resident of Punhana, Nuh, has been arrested. He added that the truck was being driven recklessly. A case was registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of BNS.
