Varanasi: The two-day Divisional Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Exhibition will be held on Feb 21 and 22 for general public to benefit from information related to floriculture and horticulture.Divisional commissioner S Rajalingam recently held meeting of officials to discuss issues related to exhibition preparations, the venue, participating departments, decoration, security arrangements and publicity and asked officials to make arrangements such as a kids’ zone for children’s entertainment, fine arts competition, musical evening and local cuisine stalls at the exhibition. Additional director, health, was directed to organise a baby show.
Secretary of Varanasi Development Authority was directed to arrange a musical band for the programme, featuring dance, singing, musical instruments and classical dance. District inspector of schools was directed to organise rangoli-making and a fine arts competition through art faculty of various educational institutions. Municipal commissioner was asked to make arrangements for food items to be vended during the programme and ensure required cleanliness.
