Kanpur: Health department will conduct a measles-rubella elimination campaign in Kanpur Nagar district from February 16 to February 27. This campaign will be organised on 4-6 non-RI days (excluding Wednesday and Saturday).Under the campaign, all children studying in classes 1 to 5 in all government educational institutions in the district will be covered through measles-rubella vaccination. An awareness rally was taken out at 9.30 am on Friday from Kanshiram Joint Hospital and Trauma Centre, Kanpur Nagar, passing through Ramadevi Chauraha and returning to the hospital premises. The rally was flagged off by chief medical officer Dr Haridatt Nemi.The health department stated that the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign is a health initiative designed to eliminate measles and rubella by vaccinating children aged 9 months-15 years. . An appeal was made to residents to cooperate in making this campaign successful, stated CMO Dr Haridatt Nemi. tnn
