Fire breaks out in Goregaon highrise in Mumbai, no one hurt

Mumbai: A fire broke out in the bedroom of a ninth floor flat in a Goregaon East highrise on Friday around 9.10am. No one was injured in the incident. According to fire brigade officials, while the firefighting system of the ground-plus 45-storey D B Wood building on Krushna Vatika Road in Gokuldham was functional, they also used their own water pipeline for the fire fighting operations and managed to confine the blaze to the flat. The fire was extinguished by 10.17am. While occupants of the flat got out after the fire broke out, as a precautionary measure, residents on the lower floors were sent to the podium, while those on the upper floors were sent to refugee areas and the terrace. Fire brigade officials, Somnath Jaybhaye and Ajay Jadhav, led the fire brigade team.
