In the first seven months, heavy vehicles were involved in 82 fatal crashes that killed 85 people and injured 187, compared with 87 fatal accidents claiming 89 lives in the same period a year earlier. Traffic violations by heavy vehicles also rose sharply by 46%, with challans jumping from 17,776 to 26,025, driven largely by cases of improper parking and no-entry violations, pointing to persistent safety concerns around truck movement on city roads.A case has been registered and further probe to ascertain the exact sequence of events is under way.
