Kolkata: The Bidhannagar traffic police has started conducting trial-run on the newly-constructed Bailey bridge connecting Salt Lake with VIP Road near Dakshindari before its formal opening. The trial-run will continue for a couple of days. On Thursday, traffic cops kept an eye on both approaches of the bridge at both ends.“A final notification will be issued after the trial run ends,” said a traffic police officer. Traffic cops spotted minor issues, which needed to be sorted out. Traffic signages will be installed at the place. Lanes will be divided for motorists heading to Ultandanga and to the Bailey bridge from Dakshindari service road. The canal-side road on Salt Lake-end at AA block was a bit narrow for large vehicles to enter from the VIP Road-end. Thus, cops will decide what kind of vehicles will ply on this road. tnn
