UP Board exams: Admin steps up vigil at sensitive centres

Prayagraj: Ahead of the UP Board High School and Intermediate examinations beginning Feb 18, the district administration has declared 8 centres as highly sensitive and 11 as sensitive, stepping up surveillance and security arrangements to ensure a fair and smooth conduct of the exams.The highly sensitive centres include Ram Lakhan Mishra Inter College, Jaswan Baraut; Fateh Bahadur Singh Inter College, Hata Manda; Sitaram Yadav Inter College, Ranipur Sirsa, Dhanupur; Shri Bhola Nath Ram Sukh Patel Inter College, Kashipur Soraon, Dahiyawan; Dr Kailash Nath Singh Inter College, Pahadi Kala, Naudhiya Uparhar, Shankargarh; Jameel Hasan Inter College, Nindura, Lal Gopalganj; Adi Shakti Jwala Devi Inter College, Baya Bela Mundi, Lalapur; and Shri Ram Charan Yadav Inter College, Dhodhri, Koudhiyara. This followed a preparatory meeting for the board exams chaired by district magistrate Manish Kumar Verma at a city-based school on Wednesday. District inspector of schools PN Singh said the district was divided into 3 super zones, 8 zones and 33 sectors. Zonal and sector magistrates were deployed, along with static magistrates at all 333 examination centres. 8 flying squads were constituted while 8 sub-divisional magistrate-rank officers were assigned to monitor question papers and conduct surprise inspections. All examination centres were linked to both district- and state-level control rooms for real-time monitoring. Sealed packets of question papers will be dispatched to centres under police protection on Feb 13. The DM said the administration is committed to conducting cheating-free and disruption-free examinations in line with the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directive. Any unfair means will invite strict action under the Prevention of Unfair Means Act, 2024, including registration of FIRs.
