Jaipur: Speaking in the state Assembly during zero hour Thursday, Congress MLA from Dausa, Deendayal Bairwa, levelled serious allegations against the Dausa tehsildar, accusing him of arbitrarily demolishing houses of Scheduled Caste (SC) families. He demanded that action be taken against the official. After raising the issue, Bairwa came to the well of the House and began shouting slogans, prompting Speaker Vasudev Devnani to express his displeasure, terming it a breach of discipline, and instructing Bairwa to return to his seat while assuring the House that appropriate steps would be taken in the matter.During the proceedings, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully attempted to raise a point of order, which was objected to by govt’s chief whip Jogeshwar Garg, who told the Speaker that points of order cannot be raised during Zero Hour and cited rules of the Assembly to justify his objection. Jully stated that govts change and ruling party members may some day sit in the opposition, but the dignity of legislators must be preserved. This led to a sharp exchange between the two and created a tense situation in the House for some time. After the brief disruption, the Speaker instructed Bairwa to maintain discipline and assured the House that action would be taken against the tehsildar, following which the situation gradually returned to normal. Bairwa also alleged he had raised this issue several times outside and within the Assembly but no action was taken by the govt against the tehsildar.
