Dhavali pipeline rupture affects water supply to parts of Ponda

Ponda: With the rupture to the main distribution pipeline at Dhavali, water supply to Kavlem, Ramnathi, Bandora villages and parts of Ponda town, including Khadapabandh area, was affected on Thursday afternoon.Water division staff rushed to the site and shut the line. Work to repair the line was in progress until late evening.A water division official said the line was ruptured near Shree Satyanarayan temple on Thursday afternoon.He said that the cause of the rupture was not known to them, but they took up the repair work. They stopped the supply to the areas so that they could empty the line to facilitate the repair work.The pipeline brings potable water from the Opa water treatment plant to the affected areas.Supply will be restored once the repair work is completed, said the official.
