Likewise, under CM Awas Yojana (gramin), against a target of 4.61 lakh housing units, the state govt constructed 3.67 lakh units.Experts said that PMAY was a capital-intensive scheme with substantial visibility, making it a high-impact intervention in rural governance.A budgetary allocation of Rs822 crore was made for strengthening the rural road network under PM Gram Sadak Yojana, a scheme that focuses on all-weather road connectivity to unconnected habitations and the upgradation of existing rural roads.The state govt also proposed substantial financial allocations aimed at strengthening infrastructure, irrigation facilities and drinking water supply across rural areas.An amount of Rs2,400 crore was proposed under the Immediate Economic Development Scheme to reinforce basic infrastructure in villages. The allocation was expected to support the development of community assets and other essential facilities, thereby accelerating economic activity.For irrigation and flood control projects, the govt proposed Rs18,290 crore — a 30% increase compared to the 2025-26 financial year. The enhanced allocation underscored the govt’s focus on strengthening agricultural productivity and improving flood management systems to protect farmers and rural settlements.Additionally, approximately Rs22,676 crore was earmarked for the Namami Gange programme and rural water supply schemes.
