Pune: A 30-year-old man was found murdered on Tuesday along the Pune-Nagar highway in Koregaon Bhima, about 26km from the city.The Pune Rural Police identified the deceased as Suken Mahato, hailing from Odisha. A case of murder was registered at the Shikrapur police station.Sub-inspector Mahesh Dongre of the Shikrapur police said Mahato’s body was found on the premises of an under-construction building along the highway on Tuesday morning. He was hacked to death with sharp weapons. “His identity was ascertained with the help of the documents found with the body,” he said.Dongre said Mahato worked with a private company in the MIDC area. He had been staying in the Shikrapur area for the past few months. “The reason behind his murder is being ascertained,” Dongre said, adding that four teams had been constituted to trace the suspects. |
