Prayagraj: Kareli police on Wednesday arrested a man identified as Majid, a resident of Lakhanpur Bhiti, in connection with an ITI student assault case.Police said that a group of five miscreants allegedly assaulted a student over a parking issue near GTB Nagar under the limits of Kareli police station on Feb 9. The miscreants allegedly attempted to drag the student into their car and thrashed him severely. The victim hailed from Tulsipur (Kareli) and was pursuing his studies at ITI, Jhalwa. A video of miscreants dragging the student into a car and thrashing him went viral on social media on Feb 9 after which the police lodged an FIR. Two police teams were also formed to nab the accused who were absconding.Meanwhile, Kaudhiyara police arrested a mobile thief Ravendra Nishad (23) of Ghurpur, and seized one looted mobile and a bike from his possession.
