Six injured as lift crashes from 4th floor in Mumbai building

Mumbai: Six persons, including three women, were injured after a lift crashed from the fourth floor of a 20-storey building in Mazgaon on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at J K Tower around 9pm, police sources said.According to preliminary information, the lift was going up from the ground floor when it suddenly plunged from the fourth floor due to a technical fault.After receiving the information about the incident, police, fire brigade, BEST personnel, ambulances, and local ward staff rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The building residents also pitched in.Of the six injured persons, three were sent to JJ Hospital, one to Balaji Hospital, and another to Jaslok Hospital, an officer said, adding that an update on their health condition is awaited. One of the injured persons was discharged after being administered first aid. The reason for the accident will be examined, said police sources.
