An officer from the Chakan South police said an employee (24) of a private company stated in his complaint that on Sunday night, he went to a party at an eatery in Khed taluka with his driver friend (23). “The complainant stated that after the party, he requested his friend not to drive as he was drunk, following which the friend abused him. He took out a beer bottle from the car and hit the complainant’s head with it,” the officer said.He said the complainant sustained head injuries in the attack. The driver, in his cross-complaint, stated that his friend did not allow him to drive the vehicle, claiming that the latter was drunk. “The driver stated that when he told his friend that he was not that drunk, the friend started abusing him. He attacked him with a beer bottle,” he said.The officer said the driver sustained a severe cut on his right hand. “The driver is undergoing treatment in a hospital. We have arrested his friend,” the officer said.
