Jhunjhunu tops education dept’s rankings for Jan

Jaipur: The education department started district-wise rankings from Dec to encourage competition and enhance the quality of education. For two consecutive months, Jhunjhunu and Hanumangarh districts have secured the first and second positions respectively. In Jan, Churu ranked third on the chart. The rankings take into account key parameters such as regular student attendance, quality of classroom teaching, monitoring through field visits, and student performance in academic evaluations. The top 10 districts for Jan include Jhunjhunu, Hanumangarh, Churu, Sikar, Bharatpur, Khairtal-Tijara, Kotputli-Behror, Phalodi, Ganganagar, and Karauli. In Jan, Jaipur featured in 19th position across 41 districts, while in Dec, Jaipur was at 14th rank. Education minister Madan Dilawar said that the district rankings strengthened transparency and accountability in the school education system. “Linking learning outcomes to rankings aims to ensure that decisions at every level are based on students’ actual progress. Our goal is to ensure that all districts receive equal opportunities, timely support, and necessary resources, so that no child in the state is deprived of quality education,” said Dilawar. Secretary of school education Krishna Kunal said, “Data-driven review and a focus on learning outcomes are now demonstrating concrete and lasting improvements in the school education system.”
