Panaji: State govt departments, corporations, autonomous bodies and local authorities will soon start using artificial intelligence (AI) tools to improve governance, administrative efficiency, and public service delivery, as the departments started identifying the problems in their respective departments to develop AI tools to resolve the same issues through AI.“We requested the department to submit problem statements relevant to their respective department, focussing on challenges currently faced in their day-to-day functioning, service delivery, monitoring, or decision-making processes, where intervention of AI can lead to measurable improvement,” director of the IT department, Kabir Shirgaonkar, said.
Govt launched the Goa AI Mission 2027 with the objective of leveraging AI to improve governance, administrative efficiency, and public service delivery. It also organised the Goa AI Hackathon to develop AI tools to identify governance and service delivery challenges where AI-based interventions can provide measurable improvements and practical solutions.Recognising the strategic importance of AI, govt of India, along with various state govts, initiated structured missions and policy frameworks to promote responsible, ethical, and impactful adoption of AI in the public sector. These initiatives emphasise innovation, capacity building, public-private collaboration, and the integration of emerging technologies into core governance functions.
