Gandhinagar: Deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi on Monday laid the foundation stones of several projects worth Rs 202 crore, including the new building of the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).An official statement said the projects for which foundation stones were laid included a new ATS building, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 47.98 crore at Chharodi; a police station at Bodakdev for Rs 33.49 crore; police housing and PSI quarters at Amraiwadi at a cost of Rs 74.62 crore; police housing at Kagdapith for Rs 39.68 crore; a dog kennel and training centre at Saijpur Bogha for Rs 5.74 crore; and an SRP housing facility for Rs 1.34 crore.“The Gujarat ATS is the centre of steadfast trust for 6.5 crore Gujaratis. ATS is not just an alert force during terrorist attacks but a silent force working round the clock to ensure every citizen’s safety,” the deputy CM said. Minister of state for jails, border security and police housing, Kamlesh Patel, said that the state govt is working with a zero-tolerance policy against crime and there is no place for hooliganism, terrorism, or narcotics in the state.
