Financial assistance to traditional artisans and craftsmen
Under the government’s Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, the facility is being provided to the traditional artisans and craftsmen of the country to provide loan at financial assistance, training and cheap interest rate. The objective of this scheme is to empower small artisans and promote their business, so that they can become self -sufficient.
Who can take advantage of this scheme?
The benefit of PM Vishwakarma Yojana is given to people associated with 18 traditional businesses. These include many other artisans such as washer, tailor, goldsmith, mason, blacksmith, boat manufacturer, sculpture, cobbler, hair cutting (barber), toy manufacturer, hammer and toolkit maker.
What will be the benefits?
Financial assistance during training: Artisans involved in this scheme will be trained to improve their work. An allowance of ₹ 500 will be available every day during training.
Assistance for toolkit: Artisans will be given financial assistance of ₹ 15,000 to buy the necessary tools for their work.
Loan without guarantee: Artisans will be given a loan of up to ₹ 1 lakh in the first phase, after repaying an additional loan of up to ₹ 2 lakh. This loan will be available at affordable interest rate.
