New Delhi: Delhi Police took cognisance of reports circulating across social media platforms and news forums regarding the alleged leak of a pre-print copy of the memoir, Four Stars of Destiny. An FIR has been registered. The book, authored by a former high-ranking military official, drew significant attention following claims that a digital version was being distributed without authorisation, police said.According to police, reports indicated the necessary clearance for the publication of this book was still pending from the authorities, making any public circulation a premature and potentially sensitive breach of protocol. “Investigators have discovered that a PDF copy of a type-set book bearing the same title was indeed accessible on certain websites,” police said.Furthermore, it was observed that several online marketing platforms already began displaying the finished book cover, creating the impression that the title was currently available for purchase despite the lack of official regulatory approval.A senior officer said to address this purported leak, Delhi Police has registered a case with its specialised wing, the Special Cell. “This unit will conduct a thorough probe into how the manuscript entered the public domain and identify the sources responsible for the digital distribution. The investigation aims to determine if there was a deliberate attempt to bypass the mandatory security clearances required for such high-profile memoirs,” police said.
