Jamia Millia Islamia Archery Team (Men & Women) secured victory at the 46th Delhi State Archery Championship 2025-26, and were crowned the State Champion. The tournament was organised by the Delhi Archery Association from January 30, to February 1 at the Yamuna Sports Complex.In the tournament, the team (Men & Women) secured a total of 18 medals in the Senior Category. Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice-Chancellor, JMI, honoured the victorious team members in his office. He extended his congratulations for their championship victory and commended their performance in attaining these accomplishments.

Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, commended the Archery Players for securing the winning trophy in consecutive years, and he encouraged and extended his best wishes for their future tournaments. Prof. Mohd. Mahfuzul Haque, Chairman of the Games & Sports Committee, JMI, also acknowledged their dedicated efforts. Prof. Nafis Ahmad, Director of Games and Sports at JMI, commended the athletes for securing the winning trophy and enhancing the university’s reputation.Prof. Mohammad Abid, Deputy Director of Games & Sports along with Dr. Arunesh Kumar Singh, President of the Archery Club at the varsity, extended their congratulations to the students and conveyed their best wishes for the forthcoming sports events. They also expressed their appreciation to Prof. Nafis Ahmad, Director of Games & Sports for facilitating the establishment of an Archery Range at the Sports Complex of the university.
