Ahmedabad: Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, carried out a comprehensive operational review in Gujarat, with a focus on preparedness along the Creek and Kutch sectors. He also witnessed the large-scale Defence of Gujarat Exercise, which tested operational readiness, rapid response, and coordination among multiple agencies in challenging terrain.At Bhuj Military Station, the Army Commander inaugurated a mega surgical eye camp supported by specialist ophthalmic teams from Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi. The camp screened over 2,500 patients from 120 remote villages and restored vision to more than 200 beneficiaries.In Ahmedabad, Lt Gen Seth and Komal Seth, regional president of the Southern Command Army Women Welfare Association, interacted with and felicitated Veer Naris (widows of fallen soldiers) and Veer Matas (mothers of martyrs), acknowledging their sacrifice and resilience. The visit concluded with Shaurya Sandhya, a ceremonial cultural evening celebrating the valour and traditions of the Indian Army through martial displays and performances.
