Record resolution of plaints received on Mela Seva app

Prayagraj: Digital initiative launched by administration to provide better facilities, security and prompt assistance to millions of devotees attending the Magh Mela has set a new record.Under directions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, several innovations were launched at the ongoing annual religious and spiritual congregation, including the Mela Seva app. Assistance provided to devotees through this digital app proved its usefulness.Making Magh Mela a new benchmark in terms of facilities and technology was priority for state govt and Mela Seva app was a step in that direction. Mela adhikari Rishiraj said a total of 2,279 complaints were registered on the Mela Seva app, launched to provide quick solutions to the problems of devotees and visitors in every corner of the 800-hectare Magh Mela area, between Dec 1, and Feb 2. Of these, 2,277 complaints were resolved within 2 hours. The resolution rate through this app was recorded at 99.99 per cent. Technology helped keep pending complaint rate after resolution at a negligible 0.01 per cent.Under Mela Seva app, QR codes were installed on more than 15,000 electricity poles spread across the mela area. Through these QR codes, devotees could directly connect to the app. As soon as a devotee scanned these QR codes, online form opened on their mobile phone, where they could register their complaint by filling in their name, mobile number, and security code.Rishiraj said maximum number of complaints received on Mela Seva app were related to water department. A total of 636 complaints were received related to the department, all of which were resolved within 2 hours. After the water department, 549 complaints were received related to sanitation, 441 related to electricity department, 150 to road department, 85 to the health department, 73 to police department and 4 to the fire department. Only 2 complaints from sanitation department remained pending. Feb 15 is the last bathing day of Magh Mela and the app will remain operational until then.
