Hyderabad: BJP Telangana has demanded an independent and impartial investigation into the recent fire accident at Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), a facility where evidence related to numerous sensitive cases was stored.Addressing the media in Bhadradri Kothagudem during election campaign for the upcoming municipal polls, BJP state unit chief N Ramachander Rao on Sunday said the fire at FSL in Nampally should not be treated as a mere accident. He emphasised that the incident raised significant concerns, particularly given that hard drives, pen drives, DNA reports, voice samples, and digital evidence pertaining to several critical cases were housed at the facility.Furthermore, the BJP president articulated growing suspicions that the fire at FSL was part of a deliberate conspiracy intended to impede the ongoing phone tapping investigation. He noted that, despite the passage of two years, the Congress govt made little progress in investigation, resulting in no tangible identification of the culprits and generating considerable apprehension among the people.During the alleged phone tapping under the previous BRS regime, not only were the communications of BJP leaders subjected to surveillance, but there were also allegations of attempts to foist cases against the party’s state and national leaders, which he lamented.Rao accused both Congress and BRS of collusion, asserting that they were cooperating to obscure their failures, corruption, and ineffective governance, while simultaneously directing unfounded criticisms against BJP.He asserted that the current political climate across Telangana was conducive to BJP’s success and expressed confidence that the party would secure a majority of seats in the forthcoming municipal and corporation elections.
