Bhubaneswar: Bargarh Town police arrested 4 youths and detained 2 juveniles in connection with the brutal killing of 2 persons during a group clash in the town on Thursday night. All the accused are being forwarded to court, police said on Saturday.According to an official communication, the arrests were made in Bargarh Town in a case that was registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. The case relates to the murder of Debashish Luha (24) and Suraj Barik (24), and the grievous injury caused to Mahendra Patel alias Ritik (24), allegedly over previous enmity.
The arrested accused were identified as Aparchit alias Deb Sindria (19), Arun Sindria (19), Sujal Sindria (20) and Kanha Behera (20), all residents of areas under Bargarh Town police station limits. Police also apprehended 2 children in conflict with law (CCL) in connection with the incident.During the investigation, police seized the weapons allegedly used in the crime, including 4 knives and 1 sharp-edged weapon, from the possession of the accused. Investigators said the accused were produced in the court on Saturday, while the juveniles will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board, as per legal procedure.Police said the swift arrests were made following a preliminary investigation and examination of witnesses, and further probe is underway to establish the precise role of each accused in the deadly attack.
