Kanpur: A 27-year-old woman’s attempt to create an Instagram reel went horribly wrong when she pretended to hang herself, but the noose reportedly got too tight and she died, police said on Saturday. The woman was a social media enthusiast who loved creating reels. Her family told investigators that on Feb 6, she filmed a hanging scene in her room, using a noose tied to a ceiling hook and standing on a stool. In a tragic turn of events, the woman allegedly lost her balance and slipped while filming. As her feet left the stool, the noose tightened, cutting her life short.The incident came to light when her 4-year-old daughter entered the room and saw her mother hanging from the noose. Hearing her screams, family members and nearby people rushed to the spot. Police said the family initially thought it was suicide, but it later turned out the woman was filming a reel — a tragic reminder of the dark side of social media obsession. TNN
