Aizawl: As part of the Lunglei district administration’s initiative to deliver govt services directly to the people, the third phase of the “I Kawtkaiah Sawrkar” campaign (Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore) was held on Friday at Nunsury-1 village under Tlabung RD Block, benefiting residents of Nunsury-1 and adjoining villages, an official statement said on Saturday.Around 500 people benefitted from the services during the programme, reflecting the campaign’s objective of bringing govt services closer to the people, the statement added.
Nunsury-1 and nearby villages, located along the Bangladesh border, are inhabited by members of the minority Chakma community. Various departments set up stalls to provide on-the-spot services. These included Aadhaar-related works (72), MGNREGS job card applications (40), issuance of voter ID cards (31), and schedule tribe/residential certificates (19). Enrolment under PM-KISAN covered 70 beneficiaries, while 10 applications were received under PMSBY and PMJJBY.Health check-ups were provided to 72 patients, while veterinary treatment and vaccination services were extended to 38 animals. The PHED distributed water tanks and conducted awareness programmes on safe drinking water, water conservation, and rainwater harvesting. The BDO Office also organised an awareness session on the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY).
