Chennai: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday condemned state govt for allegedly “engaging village panchayat secretaries and worksite supervisors of the rural employment guarantee scheme (VB G RAM G) in election campaigns for DMK”. He demanded that chief minister M K Stalin “refrain from using them for his party’s election campaign”.Palaniswami said, “Instead of engaging panchayat secretaries and other workforce at the panchayat level to provide basic amenities and take up development work, they are being used for campaign activities for the personal gain of the ruling party. This is against the law.” He cautioned that action will be taken against district collectors and officials, who misuse their positions and engage govt employees in DMK’s election campaign in rural areas.
