Prayagraj: In a move aimed at enhancing passenger amenities, Indian Railways will be opening fruit and juice bars at key railway stations. Prayagraj division of North Central Railways will set up stalls at five key stations simultaneously, including at Prayagraj Junction, Kanpur Anwarganj, Firozabad, Phaphund and Manikpur, for which tender process has been initiated. Allotment for these units will be for a period of five years.Also, multi-purpose stalls will be set up at nine stations, including Aligarh, Vindhyachal, Etawah, Mirzapur, Fatehpur, Tundla, Phaphund and Kanpur Anwarganj to provide passengers essential daily-use items.The e-auction process for these units is scheduled to begin on Feb 11, while bidding for different categories will be completed on Febr 12 and 13.Prayagraj Division PRO Amit Kumar Singh said continuous improvements were being made to enhance passenger comfort. “Facility of fruit and juice bars at railway stations will provide passengers high-quality, healthy food and beverage options,” he said.
