CM urges MLAs to support ‘Chitta-Free Himachal’ campaign, sets development priorities

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday called on the legislators to actively support the state govt’s ‘Chitta-Free Himachal’ campaign, emphasising collective efforts to make it a success.Addressing the MLAs from Shimla and Kangra districts during the second and final session of a two-day legislative priorities meeting, Sukhu urged the legislators to submit their development priorities in the prescribed format to the planning department promptly to ensure their inclusion in the upcoming budget. Officers were directed to address issues raised by the MLAs on a priority basis.

Highlighting key focus areas, Sukhu said the govt was emphasising health, education, rural economy, tourism, energy, food processing, and data storage. He noted that several path-breaking measures were taken to strengthen the rural economy, including Himachal Pradesh becoming the first state to offer the highest minimum support prices for milk, and naturally grown wheat, barley, maize, and turmeric.Sukhu also detailed the state govt’s achievements in education, industrial development, and other sectors. During the meeting, MLAs from Shimla and Kangra presented priority projects specific to their constituencies.The session was attended by agriculture minister Chander Kumar; ayush minister Yadvinder Goma; chairman, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, R S Bali; deputy chief whip Kewal Singh Pathania; and senior govt officials.MSID:: 128036772 413 |
