Union representatives said that in 2012, screening committees completed the selection process for sanitation workers in Jaipur, Bikaner, Dausa and other urban bodies. However, appointments were never issued in Jaipur, while candidates in Kota and Rajakhera were given postings. The unions demanded that this disparity be addressed and pending court cases resolved at the earliest. The unions also warned that if the report is not prepared and further action is not initiated within 7 days, sanitation workers would be forced to resume protests.
