Fire at under-construction hotel, none hurt

Lucknow: A major fire broke out in the basement of an underconstruction hotel building near Vibhuti Khand police station in Gomtinagar on Friday, triggering a large-scale firefighting operation by the fire department. No casualty was reported.The fire broke out around 4pm and the Hazratganj Fire Station control room received information through the ROIP system. Two fire tenders from the Gomtinagar Fire Station were immediately dispatched to the spot. Simultaneously, the officer-in-charge of Indiranagar Fire Station also rushed to the site. In total, nine fire tenders and one water bowser were deployed at the site. Firefighters wearing gears entered the first basement, where the fire had broken out in the storage area.

Fire officials said the blaze was doused after nearly 2.5 hours of effort.
