Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s daughter Zahara has become the latest of the former couple’s children to officially drop her father’s famous last name.According to court documents obtained by TMZ, a Los Angeles Superior Court hearing was held on Tuesday, September 29, on Zahara’s petition to legally remove “Pitt” from her name. As per the report, the request was granted after ‘no objections’ were filed.The 21-year-old filed her petition in June, to legally change her name from Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie. At the time, the petition cited ‘personal’ reasons for the name change.The update also comes a month after Zahara completed California state’s requirements for a name change, by publishing notice of her petition in the Los Angeles Daily Journal once a week for four consecutive weeks. The ad also called for anyone opposing the change to submit a written opposition before the final hearing.Zahara’s decision comes amid reports of a strained relationship with her father. According to sources cited by TMZ, the father and daughter have been estranged for some time. Brad was also absent at Zahara’s college graduation ceremony. As per reports, the actor was not barred from the event.Sources close to Brad, however, have attributed the estrangement to Angelina.Zahara is now the latest of the couple’s children to have stopped using the ‘Pitt’ surname. Her siblings Shiloh, Maddox and Vivienne have also been using “Jolie” rather than “Jolie-Pitt” in for their professional and school records.Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, were a couple for over a decade and were married for only two years. They shared six children – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. The couple separated in 2016 and were in a years-long divorce battle before being declared legally single in 2019, after a lengthy battle over custody of their kids and vineyard.
