Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday said Hyderabad offers an unmatched ecosystem for the film industry, citing its favourable climate, skilled workforce and strong law and order framework.He said the state govt is preparing a comprehensive blueprint to harness these strengths and position Hyderabad as a global film capital. Highlighting cinema’s wider role, Bhatti said films are a powerful medium for social messaging and also a significant driver of economic growth. He described it as a matter of pride that the Telugu film industry has earned international recognition, including prestigious awards such as the Oscars, and said the ‘people’s govt’ led by chief minister A Revanth Reddy is committed to elevating Hyderabad into a world class film hub. The deputy CM was speaking after inaugurating a film screening programme organised as part of the Gaddar Film Awards. He said the main awards ceremony, scheduled on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi, would be organised by the Film Development Corporation to draw the attention of the global film fraternity to Hyderabad. He assured full govt support for the successful conduct of the event.Bhatti said the Gaddar Film Awards would honour contributions across all departments of the Telugu film industry. He added that Hyderabad should grow beyond being a centre for Telugu cinema alone and emerge as a hub for films across Indian languages, a goal the government is pursuing with determination.
