Ponda: The Borim bridge will remain closed for all traffic from 8pm on Sunday to 8am on Monday to asphalt a new coat of polymer modified bitumen concrete. The PWD sought the complete closure of the bridge to complete the asphalting without any hindrance. The contractor, Sanrachana Structural Strengthening Pvt Ltd from Thane, Maharashtra, has already removed the earlier coat, said Anand Vaghurmekar, assistant engineer of the national highway division of the PWD.After the asphalting, the contractor will continue with the remaining work of finger-type joint replacement.
