Now, Statue Circle to Assembly T-point a no-parking zone

Jaipur: In a move aimed at ensuring smooth and congestion-free traffic, Jaipur Police Thursday declared a no-parking zone on both sides of the road from Statue Circle to Ambedkar Circle and from Ambedkar Circle to the Assembly T-point, officials said Wednesday.Deputy commissioner of police (Traffic) Sumit Meharda said a formal notification was issued and strict action will be taken under traffic rules against vehicles found parked on the stretch as such parking causes frequent bottlenecks. “Our objective is not punitive action but ensuring smooth movement where citizens can walk and commute without fear or inconvenience,” Meharda said, urging public cooperation to make the initiative effective. Traffic movement on the Statue Circle–Ambedkar Circle stretch already improved after vehicles earlier parked outside the Rajasthan High Court were shifted to a newly developed parking facility at Polo Ground. Police said the relocation removed daily choke points and eased congestion on the route. Officials said vehicles belonging to advocates, which were earlier parked along the Ambedkar Circle–Secretariat road and routinely caused traffic snarls, are now being accommodated at the Polo Ground parking area. This, they said, resulted in uninterrupted traffic flow without obstruction. Police said enforcement of the no-parking notification will continue to ensure the gains are sustained.
