Amethi history

Amethi district comes under Ayodhya division of Uttar Pradesh. Gauriganj town/tehsil is the headquarters of Amethi district. Amethi became the 42nd district of Uttar Pradesh. This district was made on 1 July 2010 by mixing Tehsil Amethi, Gauriganj, Musafirkhana and Rae Bareli Tiloi in Sultanpur district. Earlier, the name of the district was Kshatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj Nagar. Currently the name of the district is Amethi.

Malik Mohammad Jaisi Mazar

Malik Mohammad Jayasi has been a Sufi saint of medieval India. He belonged to a place called Jais. He composed texts called Kalam and Padmavat.

Nandamhar Dham is a famous place in Amethi district. This place is related to Lord Shri Krishna, Lord Shri Balarama, Shri Nandababa Ji and Shri Vasudev Ji.

Garhamafi Dham is about 4 kilometers from Gauriganj in Madhopur village. The idols of Lord Shri Hanuman ji and other gods are visible here.
