Speaking to the media, Sarma said the campaign has been initiated to intensify door-to-door engagement at the booth level. “Under this campaign, our workers will visit every household under a booth and give a party flag to them, besides sticking a party sticker on the wall and giving them a pamphlet informing them about 50 successes or achievements of the BJP govt. However, these will be done only with due permission. Our workers will not do these if the residents disagrees,” he added.Sarma called his participation in the campaign a small campaign in his constituency. “I have been contesting in the constituency for a long time and this time as well, I am going to contest from the constituency. So, it has been a kind of small campaign for me,” he said.Since 2001, he has won all the previous five assembly elections from Jalukbari constituency. He will contest from this constituency for a sixth term. He won the seat in 2001, 2006 and 2011 on Congress tickets and in 2016 and 2021 on BJP tickets, after joining BJP in Aug 2015.The Booth Vijay drive focuses on booth-level mobilisation across Assam’s roughly 28,000 booths, with workers visiting every household to highlight govt schemes.
