Patna: Superintendent of Police (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh, along with deputy superintendent of police (Patna cyber police) Sangeeta, addressed students at SDV Public School in the Parsa Bazar police station area on Thursday. The session focused on key awareness issues, including the harmful effects of drugs, prevention of cybercrimes, online safety practices, the role of the Abhaya Brigade in women’s protection and the importance of community policing.The officers stressed stronger police–public cooperation, women’s safety provisions and the need for constant vigilance. Students were urged to seek immediate police assistance in emergencies and remain alert. “The interactive programme aimed to empower young minds with essential knowledge for a safer and more responsible society,” the SP said.
Curiosity Talk: Patliputra Sahodaya School Complex organised the “Curiosity Talk: Principal and Science HOD Meet” at St. Michael’s High School, Patna. The national-level educational dialogue, held in collaboration with CBSE, aimed to strengthen STEM education in line with the National Education Policy 2020.Principals and science teachers from various schools participated, emphasising the need to nurture children’s natural curiosity rather than suppress it. CBSE director (training) Manoj Kumar Srivastava said teachers must identify and refine students’ interests, calling curiosity the core duty of educators and a key driver of civilisational progress.CBSE regional officer (Bihar and Jharkhand) Gopal Lal Yadav underlined schools’ responsibility to promote scientific temper, confidence and innovation. He urged teachers to become curious learners themselves and create supportive learning environments.CBSE Centre of Excellence head, Rajiv Sharma, explained competency-based education, advocating understanding and application over rote learning.
