Prayagraj: The Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway (NCR) conducted two separate intensive ticket-checking drives at key stations over two days under the guidance of senior divisional commercial manager, Prayagraj, Hari Mohan.On Wednesday, a barricading-based intensive ticket-checking drive was conducted at Prayagraj Junction. The operation was led by assistant divisional commercial manager (Coaching) Dinesh Kumar, under the supervision of station director, Prayagraj Junction, VK Dwivedi. During the drive, 300 passengers were penalised for ticket-less and irregular travel, and a total fine of Rs 1,97,250 was recovered. Of these, 93 passengers travelling without valid tickets were fined Rs 92,800, while 207 passengers found travelling irregularly were fined Rs 1,04,450.
Another drive was conducted between Prayagraj Junction and Subedarganj station on Thursday. During the operation, four passengers were caught carrying 1,600 kg of unbooked luggage. A fine of Rs 16,291 was imposed for the unbooked luggage, while an additional Rs 1,500 was recovered from the passengers for ticket-less travel, said PRO, Prayagraj Division, Amit Kumar Singh.During the campaigns, passengers were encouraged to book tickets through the Rail One App and informed about the 3% special discount available until July 14. The rail administration advised passengers to travel only with valid tickets, use foot overbridges while moving between platforms, and cooperate in maintaining cleanliness and safety on railway premises.
