Students win accoldes at national innovation campaign science exhibition, quiz

Kanpur: Manu, a Class 8 student of Bhouti Khera vidyalaya, and Sakshi won top places in a science model exhibition and quiz event held at an exhibition in Kanpur on Thursday.Under the National Innovation Campaign, a grand science exhibition and various competitions was organised in Kanpur Nagar district to develop the scientific thinking, innovative abilities and logical approach of students. Students from various schools in the district presented science-based models, experiments and innovative ideas.

District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh visited the exhibition and appreciated the models presented by the students. He said that the objective of the National Innovation Campaign is to develop curiosity, experimentation, and a scientific outlook among children, which is the foundation of a strong India of the future. “Such events provide a new direction to the creative abilities of students,” he added.Chief development officer Diksha Jain encouraged the students and said that science and innovation are the greatest need of the present time. She urged teachers to engage students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical and activity-based learning.Along with the science exhibition, a quiz competition, innovation presentations and other educational competitions were also organised, in which students participated enthusiastically. Students who performed exceptionally well were honoured with certificates of appreciation and awards. The winning students in the science exhibition were awarded tablets, bags and certificates of appreciation, while the winners of the quiz competition received science kits, bags and certificates of appreciation.
