Vadodara: A plethora of objections raised by a few against the inclusion of voters in the Sayajigunj constituency during the SIR process has raised eyebrows. Members of the opposition Congress demanded action against such persons as well as election officials.Details gathered by Congress members regarding objections against the inclusion of 8,228 names in electoral rolls revealed that a set of 116 persons raised objections against these voters. Each of these persons submitted objections against multiple persons using Form 7. Congress functionary Ami Ravat said it also came to light that the objections were made against voters of a specific community in the Sayajugunj constituency. Ravat claimed the forms did not have any evidence attached to prove that the voters should not be included. Ravat made representations to the district collector, stating that booth-level officers verified the voters in the past and they were included in the list. She added that it was against the rules to accept Form 7 without any evidence. “There was a clear attempt to snatch the voting rights of these voters,” she alleged. The opposition members also demanded action against the election officers involved in accepting the form, saying even they can face imprisonment up to two years for this
