Lucknow: Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra of Uttar Pradesh has once again led an advanced surgical eye camp in the remote border areas of Kutch, Gujarat. It was organised at the military hospital in Bhuj.Led by Brigadier Mishra—consultant and head of ophthalmology at Army Hospital (Research & Referral)—the medical team performed 200 advanced sight-restoring surgeries using world-class equipment. The effort followed weeks of preparation, during which over 2,500 underprivileged people from Lakhpat taluka were screened starting Jan 15. Expert ophthalmologists from MH Ahmedabad, CHSC Pune, 2075 Field Hospital, and MH Bhuj ensured that even the most remote villages were reached.
Defence secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh visited the facility and praised the Army’s commitment to public welfare. He was accompanied by Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, GOC-in-C Southern Command.
